Meet the Team
Alex Greenwood, Managing Director

Born and raised in a quaint seaside town on the Lancashire Coast, Alex thinks some of the best walking in Europe is along the British coastline. Now she lives in Cumbria near the Lake District and Scotland, that’s a high accolade! Alex has worked in adventure travel for over twenty years, always focusing around walking the trails of the UK and Europe. In her spare time she is a hiker, sea-kayaker, cross country-skier and dog walker. She is currently on the Board of Cumbria Tourism representing Outdoor Adventure and is an Ambassador of the Adventure Travel Trade Association.
Rhys Beddoe, Chief Adventure Officer

Rhys is a master of all trades – skilled at creating trails, mapping them and running all our logistical operations. A member of Kirkby Stephen Mountain Rescue Rhys spends a lot of time outside looking after others. He recently won The Winter Mountain Spine race 2026, running for 54 hours with only 20 minutes sleep across the wintry Pennines in January. Don’t worry, our coast path walks are designed for holidays, not endurance. Rhys trained as an outdoor instructor on the northern coast of Wales, and the Welsh coastline remains amongst his favourite places to walk. He is also a professional photographer – in his ‘spare’ time!
If you give our reservations team, you’ll also ‘meet’ Kath, Claire and Dawn. Kate looks after our finance department and John helps out with our admin. They are thinking about adding their photos to the site. Perhaps you can persuade them!

What makes Coast Path Walks special
Our starting point
Coast Path Walks was created out of a belief that the coast is best experienced on foot and at a pace that allows time to notice, feel and connect.
We specialise in coastal walking journeys because walking offers a way of being in the landscape that is both grounded and generous — allowing space for weather, wildlife, food, conversation and rest.
What we value
Our work is guided by a small set of clear values:
Slow travel — allowing time rather than rushing through
Sense of place — walking routes shaped by landscape and local life
Care and comfort — thoughtful planning that supports the journey
Local connection — staying in locally run accommodation and eating locally
These values shape every journey we create.

Our experience
We focus specifically on coastal walking, particularly the South West Coast Path and other Atlantic-facing routes in Britain and Ireland. This focus allows us to develop deep knowledge of terrain, seasonality, accommodation and the practical realities of walking by the sea.
Rather than offering everything everywhere, we concentrate on places we know well and return to often.
How we design journeys
Each journey is shaped around:
The character of the coastline
The natural rhythm of walking days
Places worth staying in
The balance between effort and rest
We remove unnecessary complexity while leaving space for discovery.
Who we work with
We work closely with:
Independent B&Bs and guesthouses
Local service providers
Small coastal communities
Supporting local businesses is part of sustaining the landscapes and places we walk through.
Our role
Our role is to curate and quietly support your journey. We take care of planning and practical details so that you can focus on the experience of walking because we believe good journeys feel thoughtful rather than managed.
In closing
Walking the coast is not about distance alone. It is about attention, care and presence. Coast Path Walks exists to support that way of travelling — one step at a time, along the edge of land and sea.
